This French Model 1866 Chassepot Bayonet from St. Etienne Arsenal features a satin finished recurved blade with wide fullers. The handle is comprised of a steel guard/muzzle loop and brass handle over hidden tang construction. Inlaid steel locking mechanism secures the handle to the bayonet lug on a French Modell 1866 Chassepot Rifled Infantry Musket. Includes metal scabbard.
